  • The Khwairamband Bazar or the Ima Bazar is a large market which is run by women. Bout 3000 women gather in the market to sell vegetables, fishes, fruits, woolen goods and handicrafts too. It is said that Goddess Ima of the region presides over the market and so is run by the ladies.
  • The North East Indians fought a brave war along with the English in resisting the advancement of the Japanese in the Indian heartland. There are two war cemeteries of the brave soldiers who gave their lives to protect the country. These sites are looked after by Common Wealth War Graves Commission, are beautiful and peaceful places where tourists come to pay allegiance to the departed brave souls.
  • Keibul Lamjao National Park is one of the best floating National Parks of the world. Situated about 48 kms from the city, it floats on Loktak Lake and is home to the dancing deer of Manipur and many wild species of the country. The Loktak Lake plays an important role in the economy of the state. The water is used for generating hydro electricity, water for irrigation and drinking water. The Phumdi wetlands supports 17 species of rare mammals innumerous migratory water birds visit this place in winters.
