Arunachal Pradesh is made up of
over 82 tribes and sub-tribes of Indo-Mongoloid origin. Special Note:
The states of Arunachal, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram are restricted areas for foreigners. To visit these states they require the Restricted Area Permit (RAP) which we will take care of. The permit is valid for a maximum period of 10 days and to be eligible for the same a group should consist of minimum no. of 04 persons. However, Nagaland allows married couple to enter in twos.

Chang Bungalows in Dibrugarh
Chang Bungalows are built on stilts for providing safety from the wild animals. By staying in these bungalows the tourists can re-live the British Raj era, play golf, take a tour of the gardens and factory, pluck their own tea leaves and have them processed for the next morning’s cuppa tea. The bungalows can also serve as base for trips to the World War II sites and the oil museum in Digboi.
Thengal Manor in Jorhat
The Barooahs, Assamese tea planters, have opened up their 72-year-old regal manor-house in Jalukonibari village, about 20 minutes drive from Jorhat town for the tourists.
Gatoonga & Sangsua bungalows in Jorhat
The Gatoonga Tea Estate and the Sangsua Tea Estate in Jorhat district belong to the Barooahs. The 70-year-old burra bungalows of the managers of these two estates are also available for tourists. These bungalows are at ground level, similar to tea estate bungalows in Bangladesh.
GLS Resort at Kaziranga
Two years ago, GL Publications of Guwahati, in collaboration with Assam Tourism of the Government of Assam, set up the GLS Resort on the highway near Kaziranga National Park. It is seven hours drive from Shillong. GLS are newly built cottages in traditional styles. There are cottages built like huts of the Karbi tribe and also typical Assam type cottages. GL arranges safari in the Park by jeep and on elephant back. It has a restaurant, cafeteria, bar, conference hall, tennis and badminton courts, besides several handicrafts and gift shops.
Chai Bungalow in Tezpur
The British planters, Williamson Magor Group, have converted their advisors bungalow, located in a tea estate 30 kms from Tezpur town into a guesthouse for invited tourists and visiting parents of students at the nearby Assam Valley School.\
Rosaville in Shillong
Rosaville is located in a residential area in Shillong. It is close to the former holiday estate of the Maharaja of Mayurvanj, which now houses the university library and some classrooms. Rosaville was built in 1935 by the late Raibahadur Kanaklal Barua, a prominent citizen of Assam who also served as a Member of the Executive Council of the Viceroy of India. The house was named after his daughter
Tripura Castle in Shillong
High up in the pine forest, opposite St. Edmunds College in Shillong, is the Tripura Castle, built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Manikya Deb Burman of Agartala. It spreads over nine acres of forest. An annexe of the Castle has been converted into the Royal Heritage Hotel. Opened in January, 2003, it resembles a Swiss chalet. It has five bedrooms, a bar, lounge, dining room, billiard room and an herbal therapy centre.The double bed in the main bedroom has been brought over from the Palace in Agartala.
